Saunton Sands

Picture
This golden sandy beach in the North Devon, village of Saunton can not only be described as highly impressive, but picturesque too.

This privately owned beach is popular with surfers and walkers
and in the Summer it is an ideal destination for families ,to swim and relax in idyllic surroundings.

Picture
The beach stretches proudly towards Crow point and standing prominently
behind is a labyrinth of incredible sand dunes which back onto Braunton Burrows
and are right at the centre of the North Devon Biosphere.

You can get an incredible vantage point from the top road, by Saunton Sands Hotel where you can take in the invigorating vista.

Watching the surfers riding the waves and looking across the estuary toward Westward Ho! and Hartland Point in the distance.

I love nothing better than standing in the sand dunes early in
the morning ,with the sun rising behind me ,waiting for the sun to penetrate the
clouds and colour the sky .For me this is a fantastic start to hopefully a
fantastic day.
