Hartland Point And Lighthouse
Venturing out for a walk I found myself driving towards Hartland Point and Lighthouse. Parking my car by the gate I wandered down towards the coastal path and perused the breath-taking surroundings whilst being captivated by the sheer wildness and desolation that this part of the coastline provokes.
The pathway borders the cliff tops, offering continuous views of the infinite supply of crashing waves and coastline, so destructive in their actions but at the same time providing a beauty, that is so immense and truly mesmerising.

My walk took me to a vantage point ,where I surveyed the isolated lighthouse, which stands proudly in solitude, surrounded by the crashing waves and the odd bird flying overhead. It holds many memories of shipwrecks past because of this perilous stretch of coastline.
The coastal path is fringed with lush, open, green meadows and yellow cornfields, which glisten in the gentle, sunlight and sway gracefully in the wind . The hedgerows are abundant with honeysuckle, heather and wild blackberries a perfect backdrop to an amazing location.

After my walk I strolled back and I was marvelled by the sun setting on the horizon, creating a ball of pink ,which slowly faded and then emanated a jet of pink, silk across the sky, creating an awe inspiring, blanket of colour .This contrasted with the rocks, dark and rugged, proudly showing off their prominent silhouette. A perfect finale to the end of the day.
I am never disappointed by the coastline’s spectacular views, amazing scenery and awe inspiring beauty. A gift bestowed by nature, available to us all and totally free to explore. How lucky we are!
